Newark GC – 2019 Golf Guide Tour
Newark Golf Club
Newark Golf Club, originally founded in 1896, is situated close to both the historic town of Newark and the City of Lincoln, The course which has benefited from the advice and guidance of Ken Brown has an excellent balance of heathland and parkland holes.
Formally established in 1901, Newark Golf Club moved to its current location four miles from the centre of Newark in 1934. The Club and course have been continually developed and improved over this time to keep pace with the requirements of the modern golf club member. The natural easy walking topography coupled with course design improvements create a challenging but fair test for golfers of all levels of ability. The combination of woodland and heathland aspects make the focus on accuracy rather than distance, although there are occasions where both are required, for example the 4th and 16th holes. There also is every opportunity to improve skill levels as Newark has superb practice and coaching facilities, both indoor and out. A range of group packages are available and visitors are welcome to tailor these to meet their own personal requirements.
The competition format is Pairs better ball stableford played off 75% handicap. The winners from each event are invited to the competition week on the Costa del Sol in November 2019 or February 2020, which includes a 3 night stay including Breakfast, return flights, all transfers and 3 competitive rounds of golf.
You must be a member of The Golf Guide Tour Membership to win the trip to Spain and have a current CONGU handicap to win any of the top three prizes.
To protect the integrity of our events and in line with the recommendations on England Golf, we do notify all home clubs of the players away day scores and we have adopted a general play rule which will see handicap adjustments for all pairs scoring 42 points or above.
