Mottram Hall, managed by Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH), has been awarded four Silver Stars in the AA’s new rating system, further establishing its reputation as one of the top-rated four-star golf hotels in the country.

The launch of the new Silver Star rating – which can only be awarded to hotels with an existing Rosette award for culinary excellence – recognises hotels that have been selected for their superior level of quality.

The 18th-century Georgian country house has been praised for an outstanding level of service and cleanliness, as well as consistently high standards of food and drink offerings.

As well as retaining its AA Rosette, Mottram Hall has also maintained one of the highest AA merit scores in the UK, with a score of 83 per cent.

Mottram Hall was also honoured at the recent Marketing Cheshire Annual Awards where it secured the coveted ‘Best Wedding Venue of the Year’ title.

Head of golf at the venue, Robert Warrener, explained: “A golf resort is not just about the golf. Everything needs to come together for it to attract return visitors and these latest off-course accolades merely highlight what we have known for some time – at Mottram Hall you are guaranteed an exceptional experience and first-class service and hospitality.”

Mottram Hall sits in 270 acres of Cheshire’s finest parkland, one mile from the picturesque village of Prestbury, and was the host venue for the 2013 European Seniors PGA Championship.

The 7,006 yard, par-72 Championship Course – comprising magnificent parkland fairways dotted with oak and beech trees, and tricky, well-guarded greens – is broken up into two contrasting circuits of nine. The front nine, with its impressive backdrop of the 18th century hall, gently rolls over meadowland and offers the golfer many chances to make a score. The back nine winds through some lush woodland and is a much more demanding test of golf.

As the largest golf resort operator in the UK, Redefine|BDL Hotels manages 10 Championship and tournament golf courses across the UK, hosting events from the European Tour, European Seniors Tour, Ladies European Tour and the PGA.
