PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS IN AWE OF LINCOLNSHIRE CLUB'S NEW SIGNING

Football’s Premier League trophy glinted in the sun as some of Manchester City’s best-known former players participated in the club’s golf day recently – but even they were dumbstruck by the skills of Forest Pines’ latest signing.

The four-star resort, in Broughton, Lincolnshire, has secured the services of one of the world’s foremost golf trick-shot exponents, David Edwards, who was performing his in-demand show at the football club’s annual event.

Edwards – who, earlier in his career, spent 12 years as Forest Pines’ director of golf – has agreed to be an ambassador for the resort while travelling the world. The former European Tour player’s trick-shot show has been lauded across the globe with big names from Rory McIlroy to TV superstars Ant and Dec adding their names to those who have been in awe of Edwards’ ball-striking ability.

Edwards explained: “Forest Pines has always been close to my heart wherever I’ve been. I was director of golf here, I’m based nearby and I host a lot of my golf days here – so when (general manager) Michael Lavizani and I sat down and had a cup of coffee together recently and the subject turned to the possibility of linking up again, I was delighted.

“We decided on an ambassadorial role because I’m never in one place for too long and having a branded car and apparel helps spread the word about a resort of which I’m very fond.”

Welcoming Edwards to the Forest Pines team, general manager Lavizani said: “We have worked with David before and were keen to develop the relationship once again. His stunning trick-shot show travels all over the UK and far beyond and having him in an ambassadorial role is a great showcase for Forest Pines.

“What’s more, he’s a genuinely likeable guy who’s great to have around the place, so he’s always welcome whenever he’s back at home.”

Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort, which is managed by RBH, the UK’s leading hotel management company, offers 27 superb holes of golf, which meander through majestic pines in three loops of nine – and it is as challenging as it is beautiful.

Located a short distance from junction four of the M180 and nestled in 190 acres of beautiful woodland, its position makes it ideal for golfers in north Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Humberside, and it was voted ‘best golf course in the east of England’ in the 2018 Today’s Golfer travel awards.

As the largest golf resort operator in the UK, RBH manages nine championship and tournament golf courses across the UK, hosting events from the European Tour, European Seniors Tour, Ladies European Tour and the PGA.
