"The Junior Tour that made dreams come true for Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrell Hatton and Aaron Rai back in the year 2000!"

The European Junior Golf Tour staged a Charity fundraising tournament in memory of Paul
Mitton, a very popular parent on Tour, who passed away in August. Pauls son, Bobby, is 11-
year-old and a talented player at Hesketh Golf Club.
Fifty-four juniors braved the cold winds in a fun Texas Team Scramble with competitors aged
from 4-15 years. The winning team shot a very credible 4 under par gross!
The families chosen charity, The Sepsis Trust, representatives attended the event.
The competitors and families were surprised that Tommy Fleetwood was on hand to present
the prizes and sign autographs. Sky Sports were also covering the event.
But more importantly the charity auction and donations raised close to £3,000.
The Nationwide Junior Tour was launched in the year 2000 with junior golfers at that time
including Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrell Hatton, Stiggy Hodgson and Aaron Rai who are now
enjoying successful Professional careers. The Tour is managed by the founder Roger Shutt and
Golf Professional based at the home of the Tour, Pryors Hayes Golf Club.
Roger stated, “The Tour stages over 30 events a year all year round. However in the 2018
season the Tour is focusing on more events in the North West and North Wales regions. We
already have some Winter Series events at Malkins Bank, Hesketh and Prestatyn golf clubs.
Events are open to junior members aged from 5-17 years.
In addition, we also stage a series of fun Adult Junior pairs competitions.
