“I have to say straight away that I am a member of the club. And I feel more than lucky to say that. The golf course is set in the beautiful Suffolk Coast area and I objectively rate it as highly as any course I have played in the UK, and recently I have been privileged to have played some of the best. It is an inland links, with a variety and quality of hole as good as any. And it is a very hard test, that easily copes with the advances of golf in the 21st Century. There are plans for Martin Ebert to come and work the front nine as Harry Coly was allowed to do 100 years ago and which could even improve this masterpiece. The back nine is wonderful and hair-pullingly difficult. And the 14th, one of the best holes in the country, passes the home of one of our greatest ever composers, Benjamin Britten. The quality of the course is equal to the quality of his remarkable contribution to classical music. Across the road is the River Course, a test and pleasure for golfers of all abilities. The pro staff, James, Simon and Keith are the friendliest, kindest and best I have ever encountered. It is a joy to to be there every time. I hope you too can experience this gem.”
