Club overview
A warm welcome awaits all visitors to Brough Golf Club, an attractive and challenging Inland Parkland Course located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The mature nature of the course reflects its historical roots. The Club was founded in 1891 and celebrated its Centenary in 1993. The on course facilities are complemented by the finest in house amenities including a magnificent Clubhouse with first class catering run by an enthusiastic and welcoming team.
A testing par 68 for the scratch player without being too difficult for the higher handicap.” To which can be added, “An attractive course, with good golfing qualities, which makes it a pleasure to play again and again.” Brough is a thinking man's course, where accurate positioning of the tee ball is required for good scoring.
Over the years, Brough has hosted many Championship and representative matches. The two day Brough Classic Pro Am has been a major date in the Northern PGA Calendar since 1978. The Forte PGA Seniors Championship was hosted in 1990. The Players Tour came to Brough in 1999 and the British Girls Championship in 2001. Brough attracts many visitors of all abilities and they tend to return.
The good golfing qualities are based on the light, well drained land, which results in a playable course in all weathers. However, in today's world with the heavier, year round traffic, “good qualities” need a little assistance. Hence a six figure investment in a state of the art irrigation system, a five year course development plan, new equipment, an augmented green staff and a regular audit from a retained agronomist.
