Mellor Golf Club
Mellor Golf Club, Stockport District, United Kingdom
About the club
Mellor Golf Club combines moorland and parkland golf in an elevated setting with panoramic views across five counties. Its 18 holes are arranged in three loops of six, giving the course a varied character and a strong sense of the surrounding landscape.
Measuring 5,837 yards and playing to par 70 from the gold tees, the course rewards accuracy through narrow fairways and carefully considered shot-making. The changing terrain and tricky holes provide an enjoyable challenge for golfers of different abilities.
One of the highest par-three holes in Cheshire adds to the memorable views. The landscape also has a long history: in 1745, John Wesley described the view from what is now the tenth fairway as ‘Paradise’. Visitors can explore the club’s hole-by-hole course guide and book a tee time through its website.

“Very tidy well maintained course, greens true. Service from all staff was faultless. Views stunning. I think I have one leg now longer than the other... Thank you for making our memorial visit for our dearly departed friend Bob Jones such a pleasure. Much appreciated by us 12 who were golfing and his 4 family who ate after the round with us. 👍”
“Brilliant course in a beautiful setting. Course was in perfect condition, greens fast but not scary, fairways immaculate, bunkers had a nice sand, pro in shop friendly & welcoming. Only small gripe being the 2 small par 3s (3&11) had a massive tree in front basically making it impossible to get near the hole.”
“Played in Feb, course in great condition not too wet underfoot despite the bad weather recently. Course is interesting with a couple of challenging holes. Hot food isn’t served through the week, but did have pork pies and sausage rolls & scones. Young man in the proshop is the friendliest person you’ll ever meet. And helpful. We really enjoyed playing and will definitely return in the summer.”
