“This is the best course I’ve played in England, absolutely loved it. It’s in perfect condition in September, couldn’t blame the course for my bad play. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, what a course. I see why it’s so highly rated, and in my opinion, it should be rated even higher! Can’t recommend RCP enough for anyone who loves golf!”
“I was lucky enough to play here just a few days ago, we'd just played another nearby course which had suffered from the recent drought with large bare muddy patches on the fairways. So I was very surprised by the condition of Cinque Ports which was perfect with lovely green lush fairways and very well maintained greens and bunkers. The course has very undulating fairways in true links style and I would say the back 9 is slightly more difficult than the front 9. The clubhouse is very nice and the staff friendly. I'd play here again tomorrow if I could it's very very nice and in great condition.”
“This is the best golf course I’ve ever played and I’ve been fortunate enough to play some of the best golf courses in the UK. To start, the range, putting and chipping areas are incredible - an ideal way to get a feel for the course before starting what will be one of the most challenging and enjoyable rounds of your life. They’re maintained to the same extremely high standard of the course. The Pro Shop is the best in the world - the staff are wonderful, they had some incredible pieces on sale so naturally, I happily parted with a small fortune. I also wanted some items that were not available at the time and they graciously allowed me to order over the phone a few months later - the service was excellent. The clubhouse is grand and iconic. Adorned with history with a much friendlier and accommodating atmosphere than you’d expect from a place so awash with tradition. Our starter was friendly and gave us some useful tips to take away as we began the challenge of a lifetime. The condition of the course was perfect. The greens are fast and true. The front 9 has a lovely flow to it and some very interesting holes, seemingly placed to make the costal winds as much a part of the holes as the landscape itself. Had a respectable run at the beginning, but the changing weather (we had high winds, serene calm, then sun, then rain all throughout the round!) presented a challenge that slowly took its toll on my score! The back 9 holes are just universally incredible. Absolutely relentless, but an experience like no other. I played with some big hitters (my brother hit a 343yd drive to the green on the front 9) but you are not overpowering this part of the course. Placement is key, it requires thoughtfulness as well as execution. Just a thrilling end to a brilliant round. I hope this makes sense to those who have played it, but it’s one of most coherent courses in the world - it has a pace and flow like no other. It is truly beautiful too. Soaking up the last 4 holes in the Golden Hour will stay with you for life. Thanks to the lovely staff, the groundskeepers and it’s members for making this such a memorable trip. If I could play any course in the UK again, money no object, it would be Deal.”
