Sickleholme Golf Club
Sicklehome Golf Club, Bamford, High Peak District, United Kingdom
Club overview
Situated in the beautiful Hope Valley, just 20 minutes from Chesterfield and Sheffield, Sickleholme Golf Club offers challenging golf and stunning views in all seasons. On the edge of the moors of the Peak District it is blessed with wildlife - buzzards soar overhead in summer – and the scenery is breathtaking. It is popular with visitors, whether on holiday in the area or in groups on society or Captain’s Away Days, many of whom return year after year. We also run a number of popular Open Competitions throughout the season
The course has a reputation for high standards , well manicured and with fast greens. It drains well and offers all year round golf with no temporary greens.
The clubhouse staff are well known for offering a warm welcome to members and visitors alike with famous high quality catering, whether a bar snack out on the patio or a full meal tailored to a group’s choice. Organised groups are always assured of great hospitality, advice and support from our friendly professionals, both in planning and running their events, including use of our electronic scoreboard.
Some of this year’s visitors have said
"Had a super day- unanimous praise for the course, bar and catering service. We will be back for another day of play on a challenging course and enjoyment of hospitality." Midlanders GS
"Thank you for use of your golf course for an Alliance match yesterday. Hospitality was first class. I do not think the dictionary is big enough to give correct words to describe the excellent condition of the course- magnificent even in the rain, the greens and general conditions were superb." Sheffield Alliance
"What an absolute treat to play your course. Everyone raved about how excellent it was. The views, the manicured fairways and quality putting surfaces just made our day complete. Hats off to you and see you in 2016 with more players. Even the bacon barms were the best we have tasted in three years!" GS
"Thank you for a fantastic day’s golf. You looked after us brilliantly and made us feel very welcome. We all enjoyed the day immensely and hope to get the chance to visit again soon." Maltings GS
