Club overview

The West Lancashire Golf Club was founded in 1873 by seven members of Royal Liverpool Golf Club anxious to expand the 'Scottish national game' by bringing it across the River Mersey.

“Best course I have played this year, really windy, but in fantastic condition given the dry weather, I could even see some green, which for someone from South Yorkshire, where we have not had proper rain for 8 weeks, was just great. Loved it, again.”

“Only my second round playing true links golf, visiting from the US, West Lancashire was quite possibly the best experience from start to finish that I’ve ever had at a golf club. Everyone at the club were extremely welcoming and seemed honored that I chose to play a round there on my trip to the UK. Additionally, I was surprised with a first tee gift: a gift box including a stainless steel flask and mini bottle of scotch, both of which had the crest of the club on them. I was sure to leave with a pin flag to commemorate the day, and I can’t wait to be back.”

“What a fantastic golf course, a true links . Everything about this venue is first class, from the staff in the bar , to the starter, to the guys in the pro shop. This was a 65th birthday gift from my son and we both enjoyed every second of the day. I would recommend, if you like links golf , this is a must. I know I will treat myself again to a round here again.👍⛳”
