Dominican entrepreneur, influencer and model Liz Emiliano became the first woman to win the ‘Battle of Stars’ charity golf tournament in Mallorca - beating a field headlined by tennis legend Rafael Nadal.
Bullfighter Pepín Liria and LaLiga EA Sports icon Luis Milla completed the podium in the third edition of the annual event, held at Pula Golf Resort and Son Servera Golf Club from June 11-13 to raise money and awareness for the fights against ALS and multiple sclerosis.

Emiliano – a golfer from a young age – topped the leaderboard with a stunning 216 points across two rounds, which were played with a series of different singles, pairs and triples formats, following in the footsteps of past champions David Otero and Mateu Alemany.
A strong contingent of famous footballers teed off to support the cause, ranging from Spanish heroes Pepe Reina and Julio Salinas to global stars such as Bernd Schuster and Henrik Larsson; they were joined by household names from numerous other sports and the world of entertainment.
Following her triumph, Emiliano said: “This victory is the result of many years of work, ever since my father, when I was little, instilled in me a passion for golf that has never left me. Winning this tournament is also a double or triple joy, as it brings with it the ability to help people in need."
The details
On the evening of Friday, June 13, a gala dinner was held to headline fundraising efforts; renowned golfers including José María Olazábal, Sergio García, Luke Donald and Jon Rahm donated prized possessions to serve as prizes in the event’s raffle.
Olazábal in particular has a deep connection to Pula Golf Resort, having significantly redesigned the course two decades ago. His par-72 layout has hosted events on the DP World Tour, with García and Olazábal himself amongst the star names on the list of winners.
Arnau Sala, general manager at Pula Golf Resort, said: “As always, The Battle of Stars was a real highlight of the year for Pula Golf Resort and Son Servera Golf Club. It’s a privilege to see so many people from all walks of life unite for a common cause and make a real difference in the fight against ALS and multiple sclerosis.
“Congratulations must go not only to Liz Emiliano on a historic victory, but also to everyone involved in making this event such a success once again!”
This year’s tournament sponsors included Banco Santander, golf apparel brand BRK, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, the Fundació Mallorca Turisme, and estate agent Inmobiliaria Sa Coma as well as the Mallorca tourism board.
