In each camp, youngsters aged between five and 16 can make the most of Aphrodite Hills Resort’s state-of-the-art facilities and expert coaches who, in partnership with the former players, impart their wisdom in a series of thrilling sessions and activities.
Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey was one of a handful of former England internationals to host a masterclass. At the conclusion of his camp in May, he said: “The kids have absolutely loved it. It’s always nice to see them enjoying themselves, smiling and having fun in this wonderful facility.”
Heskey’s former teammate, midfielder turned broadcaster Danny Murphy, also ran a camp in Cyprus earlier this year.
He said: “It’s been an amazing week, the weather’s been phenomenal and the Aphrodite Hills Resort coaches have been brilliant. Everything’s run so smoothly – the facilities have been fantastic, and the parents have encouraged their kids to get here every day. They’ve been well behaved, had a wonderful time and hopefully they’ve learned some things from me as well!”
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham winger Matt Jarvis and ex-Liverpool stars Jermaine Pennant and David Thompson were among the other big names to host football camps at Aphrodite Hills Resort over the summer, and more are set to follow this autumn.
“I’ve had so much fun, some of these kids are absolutely hilarious," said Thompson. "It’s been a wonderful time; my family have really enjoyed it. Get booking for next year because it does get full up quite quickly!”
Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers hero Keith Gillespie will host a masterclass from Monday, October 20 and Friday, October 24, with ex-Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender Phil Babb leading a five-day camp the following week.
Aphrodite Hills Resort is perfect for athletes from a wide range of disciplines, most famously golf as the home of PGA National Cyprus. The venue is in the middle of widespread investment to further elevate its sporting and hospitality offering, having recently opened a new starter hut beside the first tee of the golf course and the first Trackman range in Cyprus.
Masters Football Camps will return to Aphrodite Hills in 2026, with camps planned in April, May, across July and August, and October. For more information and the full 2026 schedule, please visit www.aphroditehills.com/masters-football-camps
