The accolade adds to an exceptional record of recent recognition for Quinta do Lago. The resort is currently ranked number five in Golf World/Today’s Golfer’s ‘Top 100 Resorts in Continental Europe’, while it has also been named as ‘Europe’s Best Golf Venue’ at the World Golf Awards for three consecutive years.
GOLF.com has a strong US audience, placing Quinta do Lago directly in front of one of the world’s most influential and affluent golf travel markets at a significant point in Quinta do Lago’s international evolution. More than five decades after its creation, the destination continues to invest across its golf, hospitality, wellness and lifestyle offering, while attracting an increasingly global audience.
Quinta do Lago is home to three 18-hole championship courses – the South Course, North Course and Laranjal – complemented by the Paul McGinley Golf Academy and the TaylorMade Performance Centre. The South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times, while the North Course was comprehensively redeveloped in collaboration with renowned American architect Beau Welling and former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley.
Yet it is the breadth of the experience beyond the fairways that has established Quinta do Lago as a lifestyle destination for golf travellers. The resort combines championship golf with The Campus, a state-of-the-art sports and wellness hub; a choice of hotels, villas and apartments; and 14 bars and restaurants spanning relaxed all-day dining through to fine dining and Portuguese cuisine.
