Seve Collection Marks 50 Years Since Seve Ballesteros’ First European

As the DP World Tour returns to The Netherlands for this week’s KLM Open, Seve Collection reflects on the victory that began one of the greatest careers in golf.

Fifty years ago, a 19-year-old Severiano Ballesteros claimed the 1976 Dutch Open, securing the first victory of what would become a record 50 titles on the European Tour, now the DP World Tour.

It was the summer of 1976 when Ballesteros arrived in The Netherlands as one of the game’s brightest young talents. He left with his first professional title and the beginning of a journey that would reshape European golf.
