The leading accolade was of four major honours that the sports and hospitality platform – which is owned by the Arrow Global Group – claimed at the 12th edition of the prestigious annual awards.
In addition, Palmares Ocean Living & Golf received the coveted award for the ‘World’s Best Golf Clubhouse’, PGA Aroeira Lisboa was named as ‘Europe’s Best Eco-Friendly Golf Facility’ while the iconic Old Course at Vilamoura was voted ‘Portugal’s Best Golf Course’.
Nuno Sepulveda, co-CEO at Details – Sports, Hospitality, Leisure, said: “We’re genuinely honoured to receive this recognition at the World Golf Awards. At Details, our focus is clear – to elevate golf experiences in Portugal and beyond – and I couldn’t be prouder of the team who show up every day with the drive to make a real impact. This award marks the start of an exciting chapter for us, with more ambitious plans already taking shape for 2026 and well into the future.”
Achieving such recognition just two years after DETAILS’ rebranding and repositioning, now with a 360-degrees and integrated approach across hospitality, sports, and leisure, the award highlights Arrow Global’s vision and the platform’s role in reshaping Portugal as a premier golf and leisure destination.
The details
Managing a diverse array of tourism assets across Portugal, Details’ portfolio of 12 golf courses features the likes of the iconic Vilamoura courses, two 18-hole layouts at PGA Aroeira, 27 holes at Palmares plus Vale Pisão, Tróia Golf, Monte Rei and San Lorenzo.
Under its leadership, Details has overseen the successful rebranding of PGA Aroeira and Vilamoura Golf, undertake significant investment across the golf, hospitality and leisure sectors at several of its resorts and supervise the opening of The Els Club Vilamoura, the Algarve’s first private golf course and the first Ernie Els club in Europe.
In addition, it has forged new partnerships with a number of global industry organisations and companies including The PGA, The PGAs of Sweden and Germany, 59club, Callaway, Toro and John Deere and successfully negotiated for a number of top international tournaments to return to Portugal including the PGA Tour Champions and Mena Tour.
One of the first golf venues to be placed under the Details management umbrella, PGA Aroeira Lisboa has completed the major renovation of both its courses in the last 18 months to improve the golf-course experience being offered to members and guests and enhance its eco-credentials.
As well as the comprehensive overhaul of all tee boxes and bunkers, other upgrades made by the resort’s greenkeeping team to upgrade the course conditioning on PGA Aroeira No.1 and No.2 included the renovation of fairways and greens as well as general landscaping and the course’s five characteristic lakes. In addition, and underlining PGA Aroeira’s long-term commitment to sustainability, state-of-the-art irrigation systems and drought-resistant Bermuda grass have been installed to drastically reduce water consumption.
The naming of Vilamoura’s Old Course as ‘Portugal’s Best Golf Course’ was reward for one of European golf’s favourite layouts undergoing a fresh period of investment since last year while there was further good news for Details as Palmares was named as the ‘World’s Best Golf Clubhouse’ – 12 months after receiving the European honour.
