After 24 events, 1400 golfers across England, Scotland, Wales and Portugal, it was time for the 2025 Golf Guide Tour Finals. Hosted by La Hacienda and La Reserva on the Costa del Sol - 14 pairs were ready for battle to win a trip to Dubai - to watch the DP World Tour Finals and to play the Earth course following the event ( 6 night trip with 4 rounds of golf ). The 14 pairs were made up of 3 mixed couples, 2 father and sons, 8 gents pairs and our current champions Andrew and Craig Wilson from Silloth on Solway GC.
Storm Joseph had passed through the coast in the days leading up to the final leaving many courses saturated, with a great amount of debris and fallen trees so a big clean up operation was needed. Thankfully La Hacienda and La Reserva managed this and the courses were open and ready for play. The draw took place on the Friday evening so with all pairings introduced it was time to take things seriously and prepare for the 2 rounds of golf that lay ahead.

First group teeing off at La Hacienda in the sunshine - just what winter golf in Spain should be. With fantastic views over the sea and the rock of Gibraltar, La Hacienda was no easy task to conquer. The greens for some were tricky to read - a few 3 and 4 putts marked on the cards. Danny Oldfield did not need to read the green on Hole 17 with his ball going straight in the hole for an ace - well done Danny! Leading the race by 2 points at the halfway post was James Ferguson and Paul Burns from Mossack Hall GC with 37 points, then 2 scores of 35, 4 pairs on 34 - making day 2 at La Reserva a very tight contest.
La Reserva always makes you feel well looked after - clubs taken from you when you arrive and placed on your buggy whilst you enjoy a coffee looking over this magnificent course. Pyramids of balls waiting on the driving range for the last bit of practice before the final day's battle commences. With the leading pairs teeing off first - it was time to find out who would be taking home the 2025 Golf Guide Tour crown. It was all very close at the turn, with James and Paul on 21 pts and Neil and Alfie on 23 points. Also, 2024 champions Andrew and Craig chasing the leaders with 23 pts. Some fantastic golf played by father Neil Timby and son Alfie Timby from Boston GC and Woodhall Spa was enough to see off all the other contenders posting a score of 42 points and taking the 2025 Golf Guide Tour Title by 4 shots. Neil and Alfie are now off to Dubai in November for a trip of a lifetime - Well done guys!!
Our 2026 season is fastly approaching with the Tour finals being hosted at Camiral (PGA Catalunya) - host of the 2031 Ryder Cup - the winners of this will also be off to Dubai. If you want to join us, here is a link to our events - www.thegolfguide.co.uk/events-tours
